Democracy Action Weekend 2025 - get involved!


The 4th of July marks a year since the most disproportional election result in British history. Itā€™s time to make it clear: we need a politics that reflects the people it serves.

Across the weekend 4-6 July, people up and down the country will take action to demand real democracy, aiming to reach 100,000 people.

Join an event in your area! 

Local Groups across the country are holding events over the Democracy Action Weekend including picnics, rallies, kite making and street stalls! See the map below to find an event in your area. 

Get involved on Social Media! 

Over the weekend, we want to flood social media (X, Instagram, BlueSky, Facebook, TikTokā€¦) with posts making the case for PR. Here are some examples of ways you can participate:

  • Make a short video about why you support Proportional Representation (not necessarily professional quality – itā€™s enough to just say a few words to your phone camera!)
  • Post a picture of yourself holding one of our posters or leaflets, or a sheet of paper saying ā€œI support Proportional Representationā€.
  • Find a graphic or meme you like about electoral reform and post it.
  • Write a Tweet or a BlueSky post about why you support PR.
  • Post a link to our petition.

When youā€™re posting, please remember to use the hashtag #PRnow and, if possible, tag our social media accounts. Weā€™ll be more than happy to reshare your content!

We also encourage you to repost (retweet, share to Instagram story) as many of our posts as possible in the lead-up to and during the weekend. By sharing our posts, you can help spread the word about PR with one simple click!

Over the Democracy Action Weekend, we are inviting you to join us in putting PR on the press and media agenda through:

  • Phoning in to local and national radio stations
